Privacy Policy

AuraSnipping is a screenshot-framing tool available as a Windows desktop app and at aurasnipping.com. This policy explains what information the product handles. The short version:your screenshots never leave your device, and we run no accounts, no analytics, and no trackers.

Your images stay on your device

Everything AuraSnipping does with images — framing, backgrounds, exporting, copying to your clipboard — happens locally on your computer. Screenshots and images you open in AuraSnipping arenever uploaded, transmitted, or seen by us. There is no server component that processes your images.

What we store locally

AuraSnipping saves your preferences on your own device (theme, presets, background images you add, and your license status). In the desktop app this lives in the app's local data; on the website it uses your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device, and you can remove it at any time by deleting your presets in the app or clearing your browser data.

The one thing that leaves your device: license activation

If you purchase AuraSnipping Premium, activating your license sends two pieces of data to Lemon Squeezy, our payment and licensing provider:

• your license key, and
• an anonymous device identifier — a one-way cryptographic hash derived from your operating system's machine ID. It cannot be reversed into any information about you or your computer, and it exists only so your license's device limit works.

The same two values are re-checked when the app starts, to confirm the license is still valid. That is the complete list of data AuraSnipping transmits. Free users: nothing is transmitted at all.

Payments

Purchases are processed entirely by Lemon Squeezy (lemonsqueezy.com) as merchant of record. When you buy a license, Lemon Squeezy collects the information needed to process the payment — such as your email address and payment details — under their own privacy policy:lemonsqueezy.com/privacy. We never see or store your payment details. We can see standard order information (such as the email tied to a license) in our Lemon Squeezy dashboard for support and refunds.

No analytics, no tracking, no accounts

• We do not use analytics or telemetry in the app or on the website.
• We do not use advertising, tracking pixels, or fingerprinting.
• There are no user accounts and no databases of users.
• The website sets no cookies; it uses browser local storage solely to make the app function (your settings and presets), never to identify you.

Our web host may keep standard, short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses of requests) to operate and secure the service, as virtually all websites do.

Microsoft Store

If you install AuraSnipping from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft may collect install and usage statistics under Microsoft's own privacy policy. That data is Microsoft's; we receive at most aggregate, anonymous numbers (such as install counts).

Children

AuraSnipping collects essentially no personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If AuraSnipping's behavior ever changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this page and its effective date before the change ships.
